CHAVATTITHIRUMMU – (Massage with foot)

SAUNDARYA -VARDHANI MUKH LEPAM

TAILDHARA – (Shirodhara)

THAKRA DHARA
In this treatment medicated butter milk is poured on the fore-head or the whole body in a rhythmic way. This is used mainly for relieving stress and as a therapy for some skin problems.

UDVARTANAM – (Medicated power Massage)
Udwartanam is a procedure in which dry herbal medicated powder is rubbed on the body in a rigorous manner in order to create friction and increase body temperature. It’s one of the treatment effectively used in the weight management programmes. It gives an ample opportunity to work over the local area of fat deposition and at the same time can well be executed as a general scrub all over the body too, thus providing better skin tone and lusture.

INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE
Special massage for the head with different strokes

KIZHI
Here massage is done using special type of bolus made up of herbal mixture, on the whole body or the affected part by dipping it in a suitable oil or herbal liquid. This is an effective therapy for pain, stiffness, internal inflammation, obesity, muscle weakness, sprain, water retention, cellulites, arthritis, cervical spondylosis, lumbar spondylosis, etc.

SHIROVASTHI

KATIVASTHI
Here warm medicated oil is kept on the lower back of the patient inside a boundary made up of herbal paste. It is useful in lower back pain, spondylosis and other problems of vertebral column.

UROVASTHI
Here warm medicated oil is kept on the chest of the patient inside a boundary made up of herbal paste. It is useful in asthma, bronchitis, chest congestion and also improves heart function.

PIZHICHIL – ( Oil-Bath)
This is a specialized ayurvedic treatment in which warm herbal medicated oils are applied and poured over the whole body in a rhythmic way. This continuous flow of warm oil over the body help open the blocked nerve channels, increase blood circulation, nourishes muscles & nervous tissues. This is a beneficial treatment for rheumatic disorders, osteo-arthritis, hemiplegia, paraplegia, paralysis, muscle-tension, nervous-disorders and sexual-weakness.

NASYAM
This is a panchkarma treatment in which herbal juices or oils are instilled through nostrils which cleans or opens the ‘strotras’ or channels related to head and is effective for facial paralysis, headache, migraine, sinusitis and in some mental disorders.

Herbal oil or ghee is applied into the rectum (enema)

AKSHI TARPANAM
This treatment is to cleanse and prevent the diseases of the eye. Here eyes are treated

SHORT TERM PROGRAMMES IN AKHSPA

REJUVENATION THERAPY – (3 to 7 days)
AIM- For the complete rejuvenation of the body, mind and soul
TREATMENT INCLUDES- rejuvenation massage, general massage, cream
massage, shirodhara, medicated stem bath, rejuvenating body-pack, navarakizhi, etc.
Duration- 1 to 2 hours per day

BODY AND MIND RELAXATION THERAPY/ DESTRESS THERAPY – (3 to 7 days)

LONG TERM PROGRAMMES IN AKHSPA

These involve the classical treatments of Ayurveda which goes for a quite long time. These treatments can be therapeutic as well as rejuvenating at the same time. Duration – 1-2 hrs. per day.

BODY PURIFICATION THERAPY – (14-21 days)
AIM: As per Ayurveda, most of the diseases occur because of the toxins accumulated in our body. So it is essential to get rid of these toxins and purify the body. The whole aim of this therapy is to thoroughly cleanse the body of all toxins through various Ayurveda therapies
TREATMENT INCLUDES: This therapy includes three phases: poorva karma
(preparatory), pradhana karma (main), and paschat karma (post-regime)

Diet- the client has to follow a special ayurvedic diet.

WEIGHT-LOSS PROGRAMME – (21-28 days )
